A New Step in Dementia Research

The official kick-off took place for the NWO Perspectief Research Program CHIME: Cerebral HemodynamIcs, Metabolism and clearancE. This ambitious research program aims to develop a comprehensive, non-invasive brain imaging approach to better characterize key biological processes in dementia.
During the kick-off meeting, leading researchers, clinical experts, and industrial partners gathered to lay the foundation for a successful collaboration. CHIME aims to develop groundbreaking technologies that provide insights into cerebral blood flow, metabolism, and waste clearance in the brain.
With CHIME, the Netherlands is taking an important step towards early diagnosis and personalized treatment of dementia. In the coming years, the consortium will develop innovative imaging methods that not only offer fundamental scientific insights but also bring clinical applications closer.
